Motexha 2007, the largest annual garments, textiles, leather and fashion accessories event in the Middle East, continues to drive the region’s textiles industry, currently estimated to be worth over US$ 12 billion. Established more than 28 years ago, Motexha 2007 will once again serve as an interactive platform for industry professionals with ladies’ wear and fashion accessories showing prominently during the three-day event to be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) on 19 – 21 March 2007.
“Textiles are regarded as Dubai’s second biggest re-export commodity with a trade value in excess of US$ 2 billion in 2005. Motexha 2007 will continue to support industry growth by meeting the marketing and procurement requirements of both international and regional participants during one comprehensive annual showcase,” said Geoffrey Booy, Exhibition Director for Motexha at IIR Middle East.
Over 250 exhibitors from over 30 countries are expected to participate, a 35 per cent increase over 2006 and Ladies’ Wear & Fashion Accessories set to Dominate at Mid East’s Largest B2B Marketplace – Motexha.
Motexha 2007 will feature a dedicated arena for international brands and franchise labels, showcasing mid to high-end brands and new designers.
‘PURE’ will showcase the increasing number of leading and cutting edge names and trade marks looking to gain regional market share through direct entry or franchise partnerships. However, Motexha is not solely aiming for Rodeo Drive labels and brands.
“Motexha’s stamina is undeniable and that’s due primarily to positioning the event effectively. Our visitor numbers have grown consistently because the overwhelming majority is looking for value-based, competitively priced products for everyday wear. Manufacturers and suppliers at Motexha are now appreciating the mass market concept of mid-range, high turnover products,” Geoffrey Booy added.
In addition, the GCC market for leather goods including footwear has grown significantly and is now valued at over US$ 1 billion. Indeed the footwear market alone in the UAE is worth more than US$ 300 million annually and leather manufacturers will also feature prominently at Motexha 2007.
Organised by the region’s leading events organising company, IIR Middle East, Motexha 2007 is supported by TEXMAS, the 300 member strong textile merchants group and promoters of the AED 220 million Dubai Textile City, as well as Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The show is also endorsed by key international governmental and private sector organisations including National Agency for Export Development (NAFED) of Indonesia, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery (CCCT), APICCAPS of Portugal and Thailand’s Department of Export Promotion (DEP).
